Nel centro storico di Teramo sorge la Chiesa di S. Anna dei Pompetti, risalente al VI secolo e restaurata tra il 1980 e il 1993. La Chiesa di S. Anna è l’unica porzione rimasta visibile dell’antica cattedrale di Sancta Maria Aprutensis, distrutta nel 1157 a seguito di un incendio da parte dei Normanni.

La Chiesa è situata sulle spoglie di un’antica Domus Romana conosciuta come Domus di Largo Torre Bruciata, il cui nome deriva dall’omonima torre che sorgeva in difesa dell’intera area sacra. La Torre Bruciata che tuttora affianca la Chiesa conserva numerose tracce visibili dell’incendio, per questo è stata conservata e chiamata con il suo tradizionale nome. Oggi la Torre viene utilizzata come sala espositiva per eventi di arte contemporanea.

Le decorazioni architettoniche della Chiesa di S. Anna sono state create utilizzando materiale in pietra e mattoni. Per quanto riguarda gli arredi, sfortunatamente, molti sono stati gli elementi architettonici persi sia durante il saccheggio dei Normanni prima dell’incendio, sia in coincidenza con i lavori della successiva ristrutturazione.

In the historic center of Teramo stands the Church of S. Anna dei Pompetti, dating back to the sixth century and restored between 1980 and 1993. The Church of S. Anna is the only visible portion of the ancient cathedral of Sancta Maria Aprutensis. destroyed in 1157 following a fire by the Normans.

The Church is located on the remains of an ancient Roman Domus known as the Domus di Largo Torre Bruciata, whose name derives from the tower of the same name that stood in defense of the entire sacred area. The Burnt Tower that still flanks the Church retains numerous visible traces of the fire, which is why it has been preserved and called by its traditional name. Today the Tower is used as an exhibition hall for contemporary art events.

The architectural decorations of the Church of S. Anna were created using stone and brick materials. As for the furnishings, unfortunately, many architectural elements were lost both during the sacking of the Normans before the fire, and in coincidence with the subsequent renovation works.

En el centro histórico de Teramo se encuentra la Iglesia de S. Anna dei Pompetti, que data del siglo VI y restaurada entre 1980 y 1993. La Iglesia de S. Anna es la única parte visible que queda de la antigua catedral de Sancta Maria Aprutensis. destruido en 1157 tras un incendio provocado por los normandos.

La Iglesia está situada sobre los restos de una antigua Domus romana conocida como Domus di Largo Torre Bruciata, cuyo nombre deriva de la torre del mismo nombre que se alzaba en defensa de toda la zona sagrada. La Torre Quemada que aún flanquea la Iglesia conserva numerosas huellas visibles del incendio, por lo que se ha conservado y recibe el nombre tradicional. Hoy la Torre se utiliza como sala de exposiciones para eventos de arte contemporáneo.

La decoración arquitectónica de la Iglesia de Santa Ana se realizó con piedra y ladrillo. En cuanto al mobiliario, lamentablemente muchos elementos arquitectónicos se perdieron tanto durante el saqueo de los normandos antes del incendio como durante las posteriores obras de renovación.
 

Im historischen Zentrum von Teramo steht die Kirche S. Anna dei Pompetti, stammt aus dem 6. Jahrhundert und wurde zwischen 1980 und 1993 restauriert. Die Kirche S. Anna ist der einzige sichtbare Teil der alten Kathedrale Sancta Maria Aprutensis, die 1157 bei einem Brand durch die Normannen zerstört wurde.

Die Kirche steht auf den Überresten eines antiken römischen Domus, der als Domus di Largo Torre Bruciata bekannt ist und dessen Name sich von dem gleichnamigen Turm ableitet, der zur Verteidigung des gesamten heiligen Bereichs stand. Der Brandturm, der noch immer neben der Kirche steht, weist zahlreiche sichtbare Spuren des Brandes auf, weshalb er erhalten geblieben ist und seinen traditionellen Namen behält. Heute wird der Turm als Ausstellungshalle für zeitgenössische Kunstveranstaltungen genutzt.

Die architektonischen Verzierungen der St.-Anna-Kirche wurden aus Stein und Ziegeln gefertigt. Was die Einrichtung betrifft, gingen leider viele architektonische Elemente sowohl bei der Plünderung durch die Normannen vor dem Brand als auch bei den anschließenden Renovierungsarbeiten verloren.
